Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Health has decided to lift all entry bans and measures imposed on arrivals from Ukraine.
The Ministry stressed that the safe haven of those in Ukraine trying to leave outweighs the preventive measures imposed due to the Coronavirus situation. The statement in response to the armed conflict is below as SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
“Due to the outbreak of the international armed conflict that hit the territory of Ukraine, it is canceled entry ban and all obligations related to the rules against the spread of Covid-19 stipulated by a special protective measure for persons who are in the territory of the Czechia they enter the territory of Ukraine, which they left due to the outbreak of an international armed forces conflict.”
Furthermore, Interior Minister Vít Rakušan expressed that in order to deal with the impending wave of refugees, a crisis scenario has been strategically planned. The general public is also helping as an email address was set up where citizens can send offers of aid and even accommodations.
Also for the over 200,000 citizens of Ukraine who are currently working in Czechia, their short-term visas are currently able to be extended.
The European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) similarly has set into action plans to assist Ukrainian refugees. The agency is offering their support for any refugees who plan to seek international protection in European countries.
