Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused multiple cruise lines to cancel or change cruises in the area.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has several brands that often include Russia and Ukraine in their itineraries. However, all of them have modified cruises to the area.
Those brands include the following:
NCLOceaniaRegent
The brands promise to share details of altered itineraries shortly.
Two other cruise lines to change plans are Atlas Ocean Voyages and Viking, which had itineraries that included St. Petersburg. Atlas will redesign this summer’s routes to stop in Finnish and Estonian ports instead.
The war in Ukraine has hit Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ itineraries the hardest. The company had previously planned more Ukrainian and Russian stops than any other cruise line.
The trips would have carried passengers to Russian destinations like Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, the Solovetsky Islands, and St. Petersburg. The Ukrainian city Odesa was also included in numerous cruises.
Leaders at Oceania stated that they’ve canceled all Russian and Ukrainian trips in 2022. Meanwhile, Viking River Cruises got rid of every departure from Kyiv, Ukraine, and Bucharest, Romania, for the remainder of the year.
A spokesperson from Viking announced that all 2022 itineraries involving Russia will need alteration, and the company will inform guests as soon as those changes have been solidified.
Ukraine’s airspace is currently closed to nonmilitary flights. Civilian air traffic control has also halted.
According to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), civilian flights could be in danger if they fly within 115 miles of Ukraine.
