According to a recent Forbes rating based on a study of tweets from passengers at major U.S. airports, John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, was the “angriest.” The rating was based on the emotions expressed in the tweets, including joy, love, sadness, anger, fear and amazement.

The airport received a poor rating because of the noise, employees, TSA complaints, and delays. Jacksonville International Airport in Jacksonville, Florida, and Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska, are in second and third place, respectively. Although some airports saw a decline in traveler satisfaction, not everything was terrible. The survey found that, on the other end of the scale, passengers who flew through Indianapolis, Seattle-Tacoma, and Kansas City were less likely to tweet about an upsetting experience. The Airports Council International has already named the Indianapolis airport the best airport in North America. Shopping options at the airport include MAC Cosmetics, FAO Schwarz Toy Store, TUMI and Vineyard Vines to keep passengers busy.

According to this Forbes study, customers complain about their airport experience while also grumbling about the airlines and even the TSA.

In a recent report titled “Air Travel Consumer Report,” the U.S. Department of Transportation identified the three airlines with the most consumer complaints as Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Jetblue Airways.

According to the study, the TSA received almost 14,000 complaints.

This summer will likely be incredibly busy at all airports. Memorial Day weekend will be the busiest since 2000, according to information provided to Travel + Leisure by AAA.
