Poland has removed all remaining Covid-19 travel restrictions and virtually all domestic Covid measures, according to Health Minister Adam Niedzielski.
People infected with the virus or who have been in close contact with a positive case are no longer required to self-isolate or quarantine as of March 27.
This also applies to passengers arriving in Poland who no longer need to enter quarantine.
People who test positive for Covid-19 will still be “expected” to isolate, but it’s not mandatory, Niedzielski said.
“The steps we are taking are to treat coronavirus infections the same as other infectious diseases,” said Niedzielski, quoted by Puls Medycyny.
In the event of local outbreaks of the virus, health officials may reimpose quarantine and isolation restrictions once again.
But for now, “both the international situation and the forecasts are positive,” Niedzielski said. “We expect [further] decreases in infections and hospitalizations by the end of April.
The obligation to wear a face covering in indoor areas is no longer in effect. The only exception is when visiting healthcare facilities.
