Israel To Drop All Covid Travel Entry Restrictions For Tourists On May 21

Many nations have eliminated pandemic-related entry requirements, and Israel will soon join them. Authorities from the Israeli Ministry of Health have announced that all COVID-19 entry rules will end May 21.

According to the Israel Government Tourist Office, case rates in the country are sufficiently low to allow for looser restrictions.

Sharon Ehrlich Bershadsky, who directs the Israel Government Tourist Office’s London location, stated that the organization has waited for this for more than two years. She also noted that the organization has prioritized balancing ease and safety for those who wish to visit Israel.

When entry restrictions end, unvaccinated visitors will be able to enter the nation. No tests, quarantines, or proof of vaccination will be necessary.

Visitors who enter Israel before May 21 still need to offer proof of a negative COVID-19 test. People going on cruises that depart from Israel must follow the same rule.

Anyone arriving at Ben Gurion Airport has to pay for and take a COVID-19 test after landing. Travelers need to spend 24 hours in self-quarantine while waiting for test results.

The end of entry requirements doesn’t signal the end of in-nation COVID-19 restrictions.

Travelers will need to socially distance while heading to the airport. People will also need to keep masks on in “high contagion potential” environments like hospitals and nursing homes.

Visitors who display COVID-19 symptoms after entry will have to self-quarantine for at least five days, only ending the quarantine after receiving negative test results.
