Data Reveals Predictions For 10 Worst U.S. Airports To Fly From This Summer

Numerous reports have indicated that air travel this summer is likely to be worse than ideal due to the high volume of travelers, a lack of air traffic controllers, and other problems in the industry.

Recently, the website AirHelp published a detailed study listing the airports where passengers are most likely to face major inconveniences this summer.

On Monday, AirHelp released its annual list of worst airports for summer travel. The list ranks airports by the number of disruptions in the last month.

With an estimated 34.6 percent of flights delayed last month, Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas tops the list of worst airports. The airport, which serves as the entrance to Las Vegas, is one of the busiest airports in the nation

However, Texas has the unflattering honor of having three of the ten worst airports – Houston George Bush International came in second worst (31.7 percent of flights were delayed), Dallas/Fort Worth International (25.4 percent of flights were delayed) landed in eighth place, and Dallas Love Field (22.6 percent of flights were delayed) came in ninth.

Denver International, which ranks third with 29.6% of flights delayed, and Honolulu International, which ranks fourth with 28.8% of flights not leaving on time, are two of the other worst offenders that made it into the nation’s top 10. San Francisco International Airport, which experiences delays 27% of the time, rounds out the list of the five worst airports

Sixth on the list is Orlando International Airport, where 26.7 percent of flights did not depart on time last month. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, another Florida airport, ranked eighth with 26.3 percent of flights delayed last month.

This summer, more than 24 million Americans are expected to fly across the country. The list may be helpful if you have not made travel arrangements for the busy July 4th holiday.
