Wayan Koster, the Governor of Bali, has been making strides towards creating more green energy for the area. His newest release is the commitment to create electric vehicle zones around popular tourist areas for 2023.
This announcement came on September 29th as Governor Koster was attending the Indonesian Electric Motor Show. His plans entail creating these electric vehicle priority zones around Sanur, Ubud, Nusa Dua, Denpasar, and Nusa Penida.
Koster shared his hope that this initiative would help to boost Bali’s public image among its international visitors. As of now, there have been numerous Hyundai Genesis vehicles delivered to Bali alongside electric buses for the G20 summit.
The G20 Summit will take place in Mid-November in Nusa Dua. As part of a greener global initiative, world leaders will be greeted with electric vehicles as part of their transportation needs during the G20 Summit.
While Koster is fully behind creating a greener environment with electric vehicles, residents and business owners aren’t completely convinced. Many are worried about the high cost of purchasing electric vehicles and the charging equipment that comes along with them.
Koster has helped to ease these concerns by suggesting the purchase of electric-powered mopeds. He believes that through strategic marketing and deals with financial lenders, they can actively market these new electric scooters to the younger generations to create a massive shift in vehicle use.
Bali, Indonesia, has remained a popular tourist destination for its magical blend of culinary delights and peaceful architecture. As one of the top travel destinations in the world, Bali holds its title with some of the most desirable attractions, including the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Uluwatu Temple, and Mount Batur.
