Fully vaccinated travelers no longer need to produce a negative Covid-19 prior to departure to Bali to be permitted entry. The outdoor mask mandate was also lifted.
Tourism operators in Indonesia’s tourism-dependent islands of Bali, Batam, and Bintan have expressed their gratitude to the government for their decision.
“This decision will have a positive impact on the tourism industry,” Mr. Djunaidi, the general manager of Cassia Bintan, told CNA Wednesday.
According to authorities, lifting the mask mandate was made based on an analysis of evidence from across Indonesia showing that the Covid-19 pandemic is under control.
However, they called for vulnerable people, the elderly, and people with Covid-19 comorbidities to continue wearing masks when they socialize with others.
“First, the government has decided to relax the policy on wearing masks. People will not have to wear masks during outdoor activities or in open areas that are not crowded. However, for indoor activities and public transportation, you still have to wear a mask,” said the government.
“Secondly, PCR or antigen staging tests are no longer required for domestic and foreign travelers who have received a full dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.”
Remaining Entry Rules For Fully Vaccinated Travelers
There are still a few requirements that fully vaccinated travelers must meet to enter Bali.
Fully vaccinated visitors must present a vaccination certificate. Individuals between the ages of 0 and 17 are exempt from presenting such a requirement.
Before arriving in Bali, travelers must download the Peduli Lindungi app, purchase travel insurance that covers all Covid-19 medical expenses, obtain a visa on arrival for US$35, register their e- CD (electronic customs declaration) for those arriving at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, and provide details of your flight out of Bali.
Needless to say that unvaccinated travelers are banned from entering Indonesia.
