Norwegian Cruise Line has announced another update welcomed by many to its global health and safety protocols. Starting Tuesday, October 4, 2022, all COVID-19 testing, masking, and vaccination requirements will be removed.

In a press release, the cruise line said that the change is due to the ”significant, positive progress in the public health environment,” and that its new guidelines are ”more aligned with other global travel organizations.”
Though the cruise line had already dropped its vaccination requirement, Norwegian Cruise Line guests that are 12 or older currently have to present a negative COVID-19 test result on embarkation day to sail.

Of the change, Norwegian Cruise Line president and CEO Harry Sommer said ”Health and safety are always our first priority; in fact, we were the health and safety leaders from the very start of the pandemic. Many travelers have been patiently waiting to take their long-awaited vacation at sea and we cannot wait to celebrate their return.”
The only exception to these policy changes are voyages that visit destinations that continue to have stricter requirements. Guests can visit the NCL website to see which countries have different mandates.
