-----WHAT'S INCLUDED ON VIRGIN VOYAGES SCARLET LADY ------
One thing we love about Virgin Voyages is all of the included amenities. As part of the cruise fare, sailors can dine at any restaurant for free, including all of the specialty restaurants. Further, the cruise fare on the Scarlet Lady cruise ship also includes basic beverages, WiFi, and all service charges and crew gratuities. This is a huge cost savings!
Although, if you compare Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady to other luxury cruise lines, the brand does not include beer and wine at meals, specialty coffees, or other cocktails found at the bars and lounges onboard the cruise ship.
-----THE TECHNOLOGY AND CABINS ON VIRGIN VOYAGES------
We were huge fans of the modern day technology found onboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady. There were plenty of outlets in our cabin, as well as other public venues throughout the cruise ship. Further, each cabin has a tablet that lets you control the lights, temperature, and curtains in the room.
While many people knock these cruise cabins, our Sea Terrace cabin more than met our needs. The bed was comfortable, and the closet did provide enough storage for our luggage and clothes during our 5-day cruise. Plus, we loved the hammock on our balcony onboard Scarlet Lady. It was much cozier than we anticipated.
-----SCARLET LADY CRUISE SHIP LAYOUT-----
Avid cruisers might feel a bit lost when it comes to the cruise ship's layout. At times, the layout doesn't seem intuitive, and there is general lack of signage around the ship. In some instances, you need to walk through one venue to get to another. For example, the Loose Cannon Bar is almost impossible to find unless you know where to look.
However, we did love Scarlet Lady’s décor and furnishings. The ship felt modern and trendy. From the Dock House to the Manor, each public space has its own unique identity and often felt more intimate. We particularly liked the resort vibes of the outdoor Dock.
-----CRUISE FOOD AND DINING ON VIRGIN VOYAGES-----
The dining alone on Scarlet Lady is worth trying out this new cruise line. We rated it as some of the best food at sea. Among our favorites were the specialty restaurants The Wake, Extra Virgin, and Pink Agave.
The casual food was also stellar. We enjoyed the pizza, the light bites at the Dock Grill, and the several different food carts in the Galley that were far better than your typical cruise ship buffet choices.
Even though we were not sure what to expect from this new cruise line, we really enjoyed our cruise on Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady. Even if some of the activities and entertainment are a bit unique when compared to more traditional cruise lines, we are ready to hop back onboard the ship later this year!
So, if you are on the fence, we suggest you give this new cruise line a try!
