4 Carnival Passengers Arrested for Fraud

Four passengers from Carnival Celebration were arrested in Miami on Sunday morning for credit card fraud.

The foursome, consisting of Decari Cradle, Chanell Howard, Dominick Howard, and Gilbert Salcido, were met by Miami-Dade PD and US Customs at debark.

After each spending, various amounts ranging from $2,700 to nearly $20,000, which included casino play and onboard shopping, their fraudulent activities were detected when the cards were declined, and they failed to present the physical cards.

The police also discovered 11,000 in cash in one of their suitcases withdrawn from the casino.

Each quartet member faces multiple counts of grand theft and credit card fraud.

Celebrity Cruises Unveils New Edge Series Ship

Celebrity Cruises is set to expand its Edge Series by adding the newly named Celebrity Xcel.

The steel was cut yesterday at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France, signifying the start of construction.

Set to launch in November 2025, the ship will embark on its maiden winter season from Fort Lauderdale, offering 7-night Caribbean sailing.

Celebrity’s next Edge-class ship, Ascent, launches later this month from Port Everglades.

Port Nola Reports 1.2 Million Cruise Passengers for 2023

And the port of New Orleans has officially rebounded.

As the 2023 fiscal year concluded, Port NOLA reported 1.2 million cruise passenger movements, setting the stage for a potential new annual passenger record for 24.

Next November, Royal Caribbean is set to make a comeback with Brilliance of the Seas.

The port has also secured an agreement with Carnival, ensuring at least five more years of having two year-round vessels.

Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney, and Viking Cruises also sail from the Big Easy.
